Man On His Nationwide On-Foot Journey To 'Ban EVM' Reaches Odisha

Berhampur: In a unique awareness march, Onkar Singh Dhillon, who had embarked on a nationwide journey on foot demanding to stop the use of Electronic Voting Machine (EVM), reached Berhampur this morning.

The 47-year-old resident of Uttarakhand started his journey last year in the month of August and has set his routes through Berhampur, Bhubaneswar, Jharkhand and Kolkata.

Suggesting that transparency can be brought by stopping the use of EVMs, Dhillon is creating awareness on the same among people across the country.

Dhillon walks 30 to 40 kilometres everyday carrying a trolley with 'Ban EVM, Save Democracy' message. So far, he has covered nearly 4,500 kms across Uttarakhand, Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and is in Odisha currently.

Speaking to OTV about his journey, Dhillon said, "EVM tampering is rampant in our country. The government formed after such a corrupt practice can never help people."

"Today, youths are unemployed, transport system is lying in neglect, manufacturing has become nil and there is a fight for education. It is all because of bad governance by a government which has not been elected through genuine voters," he added.
