Bolangir: Work on the Lower Suktel irrigation project has reached on its fourth day amid heavy security near Magurbeda village. The administration has started the work of the right wing canal of the proposed spillway of the project today.

The pro-project people have launched a motor cycle rally to spread awareness among the locals about the benefits of the project.

On the other hand arrested members of the Budi Anchal Sangram Parishad, an organization spearheading campaign against the project, have continued their hunger strike unto death in the jail and demanded to stop the project work.

Around 70 members including Ghunu Sahu, president of the Budi Anchal Sangram Parishad were arrested for trying to obstruct survey work for the Lower Suktel irrigation project and remanded in judicial custody by police on Tuesday.
