Puri: There seems to be no let up in the atrocities against women and children in Odisha as a class V girl student was allegedly raped by headmaster in Nimapara of Puri district. The matter came to light after the girl narrated ordeal to her parents today.
Later, the girl student's family and other villagers went to the headmaster and gheraoed and locked him inside a room. The accused headmaster identified as Nabaghana Sethi had raped the girl student several times in the past, alleged local residents.
"She (the girl student) complained to us today about the incident. Later, we locked the headmaster in a room after he refuted such allegations," said a relative of the student.
Another local resident said, "We want the accused should be punished for the heinous crime."
Pramod Sethi, an officer of Chari Chak Police Station said," We have received complaints against the headmaster. Only after a proper investigation, the truth will be ascertained."
Meanwhile, the accused headmaster refused to comment on the allegations levelled against him.
