Kui leader Lambodar Kanhar joins BJP

Bhubaneswar: Prior to the by-election, Kui Samaj leader of Kandhamal Lambodar Kanhar today joined BJP formally at party head office in Bhubaneswar in presence of state president KV Singh Deo, union minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Jual Oram, Biswabhusan Harichandan and Bijoy Mohapatra.

Kanhar, the general secretary of Kui Samaj Samanaya Samiti, had contested independently from Kandhamal in last 2014 general elections.

Days back, Kanhar had showed his interest to contest the by-election after meeting BJP state president. However, he assured the party to support anybody to contest from the district.

A lawyer by profession, Kanhar has been leading the Kui Samaj Samiti for long.

The party asserted that Kanhar joining BJP will strentgthen the BJP base in Kandhamal.
