Keojhar:Normal life in most parts of Keonjhar district including the industrial townships was completely paralysed due to the shutdown call given by the BJP in protest against the state government’s decision to ban iron ore transportation by trucks on the National Highway no 215.
Business establishments, educational institutes, banks remained closed attendance of government employees was very thin owing to the bandh call. The Keonjhar truck owners’ association has threatened to intensify the stir unless the government withdraws the decision at the earliest citing the reason that thousands of people of the district depend upon the trade.
BJP workers brought out a mashaal protest rally in Barbil while in Anandapur the truck owners too participated in a large rally. BJP workers staged road blockades at several places.
