Bhubaneswar: In a bid to curb the surging Covid-19 infection, the Jharsuguda district administration Friday ordered the closure of all street fast food shops for the next fifteen days.
The district administration has decided to compensate the vendors with Rs 2,500 each for the financial losses incurred during the fortnight-long closure. Strong action will be taken and fine imposed on those who disobey the order, the district collector tweeted.
According to the data collated by the state Health and Family Welfare Department, Covid-19 infection figures have reached 3910 in Jharsuguda district. A total of 2,927 patients have recovered while 982 are undergoing treatment. Only one person has lost his life so far.
