"Payments will not be made to the works which has been stated without any work order. Lawful action will be taken against the offenders," he said.

The inquiry was made after at least 15 sarpanchs of Lamataput block complained to commissioner-cum-secretary of panchayti raj department Aparajita Sarangi during the laters visit to Koraput on Wednesday regarding non-payment of wages under the MGNREGA at the block.

Sarangi had asked DRDA project director to inquire into the matter and to submit report before January 5.
