Bhubaneswar:Odisha is now bracing up for a 'chilly' New Year. Already several parts of the State are reeling under severe cold wave conditions that have been prevailing for the past couple of weeks.

As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), normal life was adversely affected in Phulbani which recorded the lowest minimum (night) temperature of 5.3 degree Celsius on Saturday night.

Apart from Phulbani, 11 more stations in the State recorded a minimum temperature below 10 degree Celsius. On Saturday, Phulbani was coldest at 5.3 degrees, followed by Jharsuguda 8.2 degrees, Baripada 8.5, Sundergarh 9, Talcher 9.3, Keonjhar 9.4, Bhawanipatna 9.6, Sonepur 9.6, and Bolangir 9.8 degree Celsius.

The Twin Cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar recorded minimum temperature of 11.5 and 12.5 degree Celsius respectively.
