Bhubaneswar: Normal life has been affected in different parts of Odisha on Friday as the farmer outfits are observing a dawn-to-dusk Bharat Bandh.
Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM), a united front of farmer outfits in the country, has given this call protesting farm laws.
The 12-hour bandh started from 6 am today. Protestors were found blocking roads at several places in the State. Some of them were seen picketing in front of government offices, public places, market places and on major roads to make the bandh success. The business establishments at most of the places in the State remained close.
Earlier on Thursday, the Odisha government had announced that all the State schools and other educational institutions under the Skill Development and Technical Education Department including all ITIs, Polytechnics and Engineering Colleges remained close today due to Bharat Bandh.
All the left parties, Congress have supported the bandh to show solidarity to the farmer movement.
