Bhubaneswar: After reeling under intense heatwave condition, people in several parts of Odisha are heaving a sigh of relief following a considerable drop in day time temperature due to rain and thunderstorm activities.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday predicted that the maximum temperature (Day temperature) is likely to fall by 2-3 degree Celsius at many places over the districts of Odisha during the next 24 hours and it will gradually rise thereafter by 3-4 degrees C.
However, there will be no large change in minimum temperature (Night temperature) during the next 4-5 days in Odisha, said the weather forecasting agency.
As per the latest weather bulletin, several parts of Odisha will experience rain and thunderstorm activity in the next 24 hours.
Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Jajpur, Bhadrak and at one or two places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Khurda, Puri and Ganjam till 0830 hours of March 14 (tomorrow).
Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Angul, Dhenkanal, Kendrapara Cuttack and Jagatsinghpur.
