The direction was issued while Patnaik reviewed the dengue situation in the state.
While a special dengue ward was opened at SCB Medical College Hospital in Cuttack, 100 more beds are kept ready for such patients, they said.
Patnaik through video conferencing also asked district collectors of Angul, Cuttack, Ganjam, Khurda, Jajpur and Dhenkanal to ensure that the disease did not spread. As many as 113 patients tested positive to dengue in these districts.
While highest number of 73 patients hailed from Cuttack, 13 came from Khurda district, 10 from Angul, eight each from Ganjam and Dhenkanal and four from Jajpur.
Though 114 persons tested positive to dengue, the state has not reported any casualty.
"The situation is under control. All the patients coming to government hospitals are being given best treatment," Health and Family Welfare Minister Damodar Rout said, adding that the state government has already launched awareness campaign against dengue.
