Berhampur: In a dramatic turn of events, Aska Police today rescued a contractor who was allegedly abducted along with one of his associates at gunpoint from Alipur village in Ganjam district yesterday. The contractor Prasanna Gouda and his associate Kalu Jena were rescued from Putibadi-Pathara road.
Earlier, the family members of Gouda had lodged a police complaint in connection with the incident.
According to reports, four miscreants had allegedly kidnapped the contractor and his associate at gun point near Alipur village when the duo was returning home after finishing work last night.
A police probe is now underway as there is no clarity about the motive behind the abduction of the contractor and his associate. Besides, there is no coherence in the statements of Gouda and Jena, police sources said.
Meanwhile, the duo has been taken to the police station for questioning to elicit information under what circumstances they were kidnapped.
