High Drama In Odisha Capital As Girl Attempts Suicide After Tiff With Boyfriend

Bhubaneswar: High drama unfolded on the streets of the Capital city Bhubaneswar after a young girl allegedly tried to commit suicide in full public view following a fight with her male friend.

The incident reportedly took place on the busy stretch of Bharatpur on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar on Monday.

to reports, the couple travelling on a scooter stopped by the roadside. Following a brief conversation an argument broke out between them. In a fit of rage, the girl allegedly tried to walk away from the spot while her male friend was seen trying to stop her from behind by pulling her backpack.

Soon after,  the girl brought out, what looked like, a bottle of hand sanitizer from her bag and tried to consume it in an ostensible bid to commit suicide. After failing in her attempt, the girl tried to jump off a high place to end her life while the youth was seen making desperate attempts to save her.

The entire incident occurred in full public view, leaving the passersby shocked and surprised.  Eventually, the girl fell unconscious and her male friend and others rushed her to a hospital. She was  discharged after preliminary treatment.

Though the suicide attempt is suspected to be a fallout of a fight between the young couple, the police are conducting inquiry to find out if there could be something more than what meets the eye.
