Bhubaneswar: The Low-pressure area over North coastal Odisha and adjoining Gangetic-West Bengal is likely to become well-marked and trigger heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in several parts of Odisha in the next 24 hours. Several parts of Odisha have already received heavy to very heavy rainfall in the past 24 hours with Athagarh in Cuttack district recording highest 182 mm of rainfall in the past 24 hours, followed by Banki (165mm) and Dhenkanal (144mm).

HR Biswas, director of Bhubaneswar Regional Meteorological Centre informed that the south-west monsoon is active over Odisha and the State has received 643.4mm of rainfall from June 1 to August 14 against the normal precipitation of 736.48 mm.
