Cuttack: Hearing on the much-awaited police-lawyer spat was deferred as State CID, Crime Branch failed to submit a full-fledged charge sheet before the Orissa High Court here on Friday.
Earlier, the court had directed the investigating agency to submit a report after completing the pending investigation in connection with the incident by November 9. The next hearing in the case will be held on November 13.
Sources said the Orissa High Court also expressed displeasure over the revocation of the suspension order of the police personnel who were earlier arrested for allegedly assaulting a Cuttack-based lawyer at Chauliaganj in August.
Though the Crime Branch had sought additional six weeks time to furnish the charge sheet after completion of the pending inquiry, the Orissa High Court turned down such request on the ground that already the investigation is being monitored by a judge, sources said.
Meanwhile, the Orissa High Court Bar Association today decided to extend their cease work agitation till Monday.
