Group clash at BJP party meeting in Nayagarh; 2 injured

Nayagarh: Two members of the BJP district unit were injured following a group clash during a party meeting in Nayagarh town today.

The two groups of the saffron party exchanged blows and hurled chairs at each other during the meeting. The face-off started when one group of party members raised objection for not being invited to a meeting.

Among others, BJP Nayagarh district President Sanyasi Naik and State Executive member Purna Chandra Mallick were also present in the meeting.

“Some party members expressed their displeasure in the meeting,” said Santosh Pradhan, BJP youth president of Nayagarh district.

“All this occurred due to some misunderstanding. We will definitely inquire into the matter and resolve it amicably,” the BJP state executive member stated,

Meanwhile, senior BJP leader KV Singhdeo has reached Nayagarh to hold discussions with party members and sort out the issue.
