Bhubaneswar: Continuing trend, girls outshine boys in the eastern region in class X examination conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), the results of which were announced today. Pass percentage of the state remains at 99.48, better among the eastern region states like Chhattisgarh and West Bengal.

Students of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya have fared well as its 66.48 per cent aspirants scored more than 75 per cent mark. Private institutions followed the performance list of educational institutes of which 43.28 per cent students scored above 75 per cent mark. For Kendriya Vidyalaya, 41.76 per cent students have scored above 75 per cent mark.

Lagging behind are government schools, of which 8 per cent students could score above 75 per cent mark. As many as 13,573 students had appeared for the examination this year.
