Bhubaneswar: Three days after an Odia girl was allegedly gangraped by three men in the national capital, the matter is now getting political push. Minister of women and child development Usha Devi and Minister of textile, handloom and handicrafts Sarojini Hembram on Wednesday met Delhi Police commissioner and the resident commissioner of Odisha in Delhi and discussed about the matter.

After arriving at the Bhubaneswar airport here Hembram said, “We had a meeting with the Delhi Police commissioner and other officials, and requested to nab the accused as soon as possible”.

On Tuesday Odisha DGP Prakash Mishra had also spoken to Delhi Police commissioner to expedite the investigation.

The Delhi police have so far arrested one person in connection with the matter.

According to reports, the incident took place when the victim along with her sister was coming from Gurgaon to Munirka area in Delhi at around 10pm. Three persons intercepted both and forcibly took away the younger sister towards Shaheen Bag area after throwing out her elder sister from the moving car. Later, they outraged her modesty in the moving vehicle, police said.
