Bhubaneswar: A fresh low pressure area is likely to form over central Bay of Bengal around October 19, informed IMD’s regional centre in Bhubaneswar on Thursday.
The trough from West-central Bay of Bengal to East-central Arabian Sea now runs across north Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and a cyclonic circulation associated with the well-marked low pressure area over south Madhya Maharashtra and adjoining south Konkan. Under its influence, several parts of Odisha will experience heavy rainfall in the next 24 hours, the Regional Met department said.

Light to moderate rain/ thundershower likely to occur in South coastal Odisha. Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur atone or two places over the Nawarangpur, Koraput, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal,Boudh, Bolangir, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Jagatsinghpur and Kendrapara.
Heavy rainfall very likely to occurat one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Gajapati, KalahandiandKandhamal.
Day 2 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of October 16upto 0830 Hrs of October 17)
Yellow Warning(Be updated): Thunderstorm with lightning likely to occur atone or two places over the districts of Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada and Kandhamal.
Day 3: Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at few places over the districts of South Odisha, North Coastal Odisha and at one or two places over the district of North Interior and Coastal Odisha on October 18 and 19.
Day 4: (valid from 0830 hrs IST of October 19upto 0830 Hrs of October 20)
Light to moderate rain or thunder shower likely to occur over the districts of South Coastal, North Coastal , South Interior and North Interior Odisha.
Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri and Khordha.
