Phulbani: At least five people were injured, two of them seriously, in a clash between two groups over block chairman election in Kandhamal district today, police said.
The incident took place following heated exchange between members of the two groups in G Udayagiri area following the panchayat elections, Inspector in-charge of G Udayagiri police station R K Murmu said.
Liquor bottles, sticks and stones were used during the clash causing injuries to five people, police said. The injured persons were admitted at the government hospital at G Udaygiri.
