Bhubaneswar: Fire broke out at the Home department of Secretariat today morning.
Source said the blaze started at the store room of the Home department and important files might have been gutted in the accident.
The spread of fire came to be known when a mechanic of air conditioners spotted smoke rising out of the room of the department. Lock of the room was broken by the mechanic with the help of some staff of the office. Afterwards, fire brigade personnel were informed and the blaze was brought under control after few hours of hectic effort.
Reasons behind the cause of fire are not known.
