Feast After Building Works Leaves 2 Dead, Over 15 Ill In Odisha

Dhenkanal: At least two persons died while over 15 took ill after partaking during a feast held to mark the topping-out ceremony of a house. The shocking incident was reported from Bedhapal village under Kamakhyanagar police limits in Dhenkanal on Thursday.

Several labourers working at the construction site had consumed food during the feast and most of them reportedly complained of uneasiness, vomiting and diarrhoea after having the meal.

All of them were rushed to Dhenkanal Hospital while some of them being shifted to Cuttack SCB after their health condition deteriorated.

Today, one of the labourers undergoing treatment at Dhenkanal passed away while another one was declared dead at Cuttack SCB.

However, police or hospital authorities are yet to confirm the reason behind the incident.
