Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission (OERC) on Saturday approved the proposal for hike in power tariff in the State by 30 paise per unit.

As per an official statement, the tariff revision amounts to 5.60 % rise in the overall retail supply tariff. Now consumers will now have to pay Rs 3 per unit instead of Rs 2.70 per unit. Similarly, the revised rate for consumption of electricity between 50 to 200 units will now cost a consumer Rs 4. 80. Earlier, the consumers were paying Rs 4. 50 per unit between this range.
