EC flying squad seizes over Rs 7 Lakh cash in Cuttack

Jagatpur: Ahead of the final phase polls in Odisha, a flying squad of the Election Commission of India today seized more than Rs 7 Lakh cash from a petrol pump in Jagatpur, Cuttack.

Acting on a tipoff, the flying squad today launched a surprise raid on the petrol pump in Jagatpur. The flying squad seized around Rs 7.42 lakh cash from the petrol pump, which is owned by one of the MLA candidates in fray, informed sources.

However, the actual owner and the purpose the cash is yet to be ascertained.
