Jharsuguda: In a heinous act, a four-year-old boy was beaten to death by his drunken father at Bhursimal village in Jharsuguda district today. The accused who managed to abscond after the incident is still at large.
As per reports, Subham, son of one Dinesh Nayak was staying at his grandfather’s place since the last nine months. On Wednesday, Dinesh had gone to bring his son home when the two entered into a quarrel on some trivial matter. In a fit of rage, Dinesh started hitting Subham who sustained critical injuries.
Although the child was rushed to the Jharsuguda hospital, he succumbed to his injuries today. Meanwhile, the accused father has absconded apprehending arrest.
"His father was in inebriated condition and started beating the child. When I tried to stop him he attacked me too," said Pradeep Naik, grandfather of the deceased.
On receiving information, police rushed to the spot and started investigation into the incident. "Investigation is on. The accused will be nabbed soon," said a police official.
