Balasore:  Already being rejected three times, the bail petition of ex-minister’s son Rajashree, which was scheduled to be heard today, has been deferred by the Balasore district session court  to Thursday.

The accused was in judicial custody since March 18 after his bail pleas had been rejected repeatedly on March 18, 21 and 25. Rajashree, son of ex-minister Raghunath Mohanty, accused of torturing his wife for dowry, was arrested by HRPC team near Cuttack and was produced in SDJM Court.

The co-accused in the case, Raghunath Mohanty and his wife, after spending three nights in jail, were granted bail on Tuesday. A day after their bail was granted, the court will determine the fate of their son today.

Notably, other two accused, Mohanty’s daughter and son-in-law are still at large.
