Bhubaneswar: After a delay of nearly four months, Indian Railways is all set to provide train tickets printed in Odia language for passengers traveling to and from Odisha. The new scripting in local vernacular language-Odia will apply for the Unreserved Train Tickets.
Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will inaugurate the unreserved train tickets printed in Odia from East Coast Railway (ECoR) headquarters through video conferencing on August 24.
The authorities had planned to introduce unreserved train tickets in Odia script on April 1. The new initiative will come to the rescue of thousands of passengers who face problems with reading tickets printed in English & Hindi languages.
Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will also flag off the Bhubaneswar-Junagarh Road-Bhubaneswar Express on 24th August.
Hirakhand Express is currently running from Bhubaneswar to Rayagada from where it is being separated towards Jagadalpur and Junagarh Road as two trains. The new train will be a separate service to Junagarh Road from Bhubaneswar.
