Puri: Two divyang youths covered 104 kilometre on wheelchairs and reached Puri today for darshan of Lord Jagannath in Srimandir.

Yesterday night, on the eve of Independence Day, Kamalakant Nayak and Prashant Nayak started their journey from Olatpur's Swami Vivekanand National Institute of Rehabilitation Training and Research (SVNIRTAR).

After traveling for 12 hours, the duo reached Puri today to get a darshan of the holy Trinity.

Kamalakant, a member of Odisha Basketball team and a marathoner, expressed his disappointment over lack of good wheelchairs required for marathons.

"One of the main reasons behind this marathon is to urge the government to provide us good wheelchairs because we are not able to participate in national and international marathon events," Kamalakant said.
