Balasore: Before he could realize the complexities of material world, a six-year-old kid suffering from nephritic syndrome is desperately seeking succor.

The kid Ramakant, son of Maheswar Barik, received treatment at Bahanaga hospital here. However, doctors attending the minor were of the view that if Ramakant does not get specialized treatment on time then his kidneys may cease.

“In the absence of proper medical attention, the ailment may lead to kidney failure,” said Padmanav Acharya, Medical officer of Bahanaga medical.

When Ramakant was only four years old, he experienced pain during urination and was taken for treatment to a local hospital from where he was referred to Sishu Bhawan under SCB medical college and hospital in Cuttack.

“For last three to four years we have been traveling to Cuttack for my son’s treatment and have been spending around Rs 4, 000 every month. I am physically handicapped and toil hard for living. So I seek some financial assistance for my son’s treatment”, said Ramakant’s father.

As huge amount of money is needed for the treatment, Ramakant’s father is now seeking some financial assistance. Being a daily wage earner, it is a daunting task for him to collect such a huge amount. Meanwhile, the despondent parents are liquidating their assets for their son’s treatment.

“A lot of money is required for Ramakant’s treatment and I will bring this matter before district collector”, said Nirakar Parida, Tahsildar of Soro.
