Bhubaneswar: With an aim to implement the State government’s ‘Mo Sarkar’ initiative in an effective manner from October 2, the Odisha Police has begun its groundwork with DGP BK Sharma on Wednesday directing the top police officials to set up call centres and streamline their functioning in all the districts to address the grievances of public.
The DGP has asked SPs, DIGs and IGs through video conferencing to ensure that the staffs of police stations show professional behaviour and friendly manner with complainants. As part of the programme, the staffs of the police stations will be provided training on behavioural reforms within September 30.
Also, with the help of the State Crime Record Bureau the police have finalised to set up a dash board to store phone numbers of complainants visiting police stations.
Announced by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on August 15 earlier this month, the Mo Sarkar programme is scheduled for launch from October 2 under which the 5Ts model of governance including technology, transparency, teamwork, transformation and time-laid will be implemented at all police stations and district headquarters hospitals in the first phase.
The government has said that all the departments of the State will adopt the 5Ts model by March 5, 2020.
