Dense foggy weather hits normal life in Odisha; 12 districts alerted

Bhubaneswar: Dense foggy conditions continue to throw normal life out of gear in coastal and interior parts of the State. Regional meteorologilcal department has issued dense fog alert for as many as 12 districts of the State.

A thick blanket of fog was witnessed shrouding several parts of the state including the Twin-City Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, Puri, Khurda, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Bhadrak, Keonjhar and Jajpur today.

Low visibility due to foggy condition has hit vehicular traffic making it hard for students and office goers to reach their destinations. Railway communication has also been affected due to the inclement weather.

While people have been forced to stay indoors, some road accident cases have also been reported due to the foggy weather.

Meteorologilcal sources said that the condition will prevail till January 25.
