Dhenkanal: Ration card holders in Khanda Padmapur village under Kankadahad block of Dhenkanal district lodged a complaint with the administration today against an abusive ration dealer who has allegedly not provided ration to the beneficiaries for the past five months.
Sources said that the dealer has not only denied ration, but also abused the beneficiaries. The alleged disruption in ration started last October leading to resentment among villagers, who have warned to launch protests if no action is taken against the dealer.
''We have not been receiving rice and pulses and we came to the block office to lodge a complaint against the dealer today. If the administration does not take any action, we will protest in front of the Panchayat office,'' said Amuli, who is one of the beneficiaries.
Responding to the complaints, Kankadahad BDO, Debadutta Mahanta said ''We have instructed the block distribution officer to investigate the matter. Further action will be taken on the basis of his report.''
