Dawn-to dusk bandh in Titlagarh for district status

Titlagarh: A dawn-to dusk bandh demanding district status for Titlagarh in Bolangir district crippled normal life in the town today.

The 12-hour bandh from 6 am to 6 pm was called by Titlagarh Zilla Kriyanusthan Committee.

Shops, business establishments, government and non-government institutions remained closed. Vehicular movement also came to a standstill due to the shutdown.

The members of the committee also staged picketing at various key points in the town. Commuters were left lurch as bus services were suspended due to the agitation.

“Titlagarh is the most developed sub-division of Bolangir district. Therefore, we want district status for the town. We have been demanding the same for the last 20 years,” said an agitating member.
