Bhubaneswar: The political war between Congress leader Lulu Mohapatra and Food and Consumer Welfare minister Sanjay Dasburma is getting intense with each passing day. Supporters of the BJD minister on Tuesday took out a motorcycle rally from Brahmagiri to Cuttack to submit a memorandum to DGP KB Singh demanding the arrest of Mohapatra.

According to sources, as many as 2,000 workers of BJD, including party leaders and members of its youth wing, took out a bike rally consisting of around 400 bikes from Brahamagiri.

On their way to Cuttack, the supporters of Dasburma set Lulu's effigy on fire in front of Singhadwar of Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri.

On Monday, normal life was thrown out of gear in Brahmagiri on account of a bandh called by Congress demanding arrest of Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare minister Sanjay Dasburma for having accepted a Pajero vehicle allegedly gifted by owner of Artha Tatwa chit fund company Pradeep Sethi.

Congress activists staged demonstrations across various parts of the town blocking roads.

Notably, while charging Dasburma with having links with the scam-tainted Artha Tatwa, senior Congress leader Lalatendu Bidyadhar (Lulu) Mohapatra had alleged that the minister had received a Pajero SUV from the Ponzi company as a gift.
