Cuttack: Cuttack district and sessions judge Bira Kishore Mishra has been elevated to bench of Orissa High Court and he is likely to take oath as an additional judge of the high court on January 25, official sources said.

The Presidential warrant of appointment of Mishra reached the High Court registry here today.

Born in Angul district in 1951, Mishra began his career as a lawyer in Orissa High Court in 1976 after obtaining law degree from M S Law College here.

He subsequently cleared Orissa Judicial Services (OJS) examinations in 1980 and since then working as a judicial officer of the State in several capacities, including a brief stint in HC registry.
