Cuttack: The Cuttack district administration is not leaving any stone unturned to make the historic Bali Yatra entertaining as well as memorable for visitors coming to the annual fair starting on the occasion of Kartika Purnima tomorrow.
This time, the fair which is organised in memory of the rich maritime trade history of Odisha, will be 'dust free' as elaborate measures are being taken to minimize pollution during Bali Yatra, informed Collector Aravind Agarwal.
Agarwal informed that certain chemicals as well as water sprinklers are being used so that the dust settles down on the ground. Besides, free bus service from Chahata and Trishulia bridge will also be made for the visitors.
Official sources said over 1300 stalls including 350 kiosks selling a wide range of ethnic handlooms and other products of various self help groups will come up inside the ORMAS pavilion at Bali Yatra which will be organised in nearly 44 acre of land.
Several traders from different parts of the country are now giving final touches to their stalls and they are hopeful of a brisk business this year.
Cuttack DCP, Akhilesvwar Singh informed that 32 platoons of police force will be deployed for security as well as crowd management.
"We have made special plans for crowd management as there will be multiple entry and exit points and adequate parking provisions for the visitors," said Singh adding that CCTV cameras will also be installed at strategic locations in different parts of the Bali Yatra ground.
