Jajpur: Investigation in the curious case of two-year-old minor girl 'Pihu', who allegedly went missing from her village in Madhusudanpur area last August has been sped up by police.
As per reports, the probe into the case which was entrusted to an Asst Sub-Inspector (ASI) level officer has now been handed over to the Inspector-In-Charge (IIC) of Binjharpur police station.
Informing about the development, Narayan Barik, the SDPO of Jajpur Town said, "Initially the case was taken by the ASI of Binjharpur PS, however, the probe has now been handed over to the IIC after he failed to make any headway into the case."
"The case will be supervised by me and the Superintendent of Police himself will be guiding us. I think we will reach a logical conclusion soon enough," said Barik.
It is pertinent to mention here that, two-year-old Subhalaxmi Nayak, aka Pihu from Madhusudanpur village has been missing for the last four months. Despite registering an FIR in the police station, the cops are yet to locate the hapless girl.
The District Child Protection Officer had visited her house yesterday to discuss the matter with her parents.
