Puri: Panic gripped locals in Banki Muhana area of Puri district following death of a large number of crows in the area today. The matter came to light after locals, who were out for morning walk, spotted the dead birds inside a park.
As per reports as many as 10 crows were found dead inside the park.
Though the exact reason behind the bird deaths is yet to be established, locals suspected that it could be on account of bird flu.
Earlier, deaths of crows and chicken in the district had confirmed presence of bird flu in several villages under Krushna Prasad block of the district following which culling operations were launched. Moreover, sale of eggs and chicken were also banned in the area.
