Bhubaneswar: Two doctors of Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar have tested positive for novel-Coronavirus on Friday, informed the Director of the hospital, Laxmidhar Sahu.
As per reports, one of the doctors belonged to the surgery department, and the other one from medicine department of the premier State-run hospital in the Capital city.
As per the protocols, all the contacts of the two doctors have also been tested for Covid-19 but their samples have returned negative.
Sources said, though the doctor duo was tested positive, they will undergo an RT-PCR test again to verify the infection.
Odisha recorded a single death and 1,282 new COVID positive cases in the last 24 hours, the highest single-day rise this year, taking the tally to 3,46,808 till Friday.
Sundargarh reported the highest 224 cases followed by Khordha (192), Kalahandi (108), Bargarh (84), Sambalpur (82), Nuapada (82), Cuttack (63), Mayurbhanj (52), Angul (49) and Bolangir 45 cases.
The infection of doctors came as a shock to many given the fact that almost all health care personnel have already been vaccinated in the State.
