Bhubaneswar: Continuing the downward trend, the Odisha Capital Bhubaneswar reported 309 new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours.
Of the fresh cases, 226 were identified as local contact cases while the remaining 83 are quarantine cases linked with earlier positive cases, informed the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC).
On the other hand, as many as 317 Covid patients recovered from the disease in the capital city in the last 24 hours and are being discharged from hospitals, the civic body said.
With this, the cumulative number of positive cases in Bhubaneswar reached 24,537 while 20,888 patients have recovered from the disease in the city so far. The active cases of Coronavirus stand at 3519 and 109 people have succumbed to the disease as of now.
As on October 8, Odisha's positive tally stands at 244142. Earlier in the day, the State witnessed a spike of 3144 new cases while 16 more fatalities were recorded in the last 24 hours, pushing the death toll to 974. Of the total deaths, four were reported from Bhubaneswar.
