Country-made liquor, molasses seized in Puri

Puri: A special team of Puri district excise officials conducted raids at Bhoi Sahi in Gendapada village under Brahmagiri block of the district and seized country-made liquor and molasses yesterday night. Seven persons were also arrested in this connection.

As per police reports, 135 litres of country-made liquor, 1500 litres of molasses and four motorcycles were seized during the raid.

"Illegal liquor business has been on a rise in this area. This is for the third time that raids have been conducted in Bhoi Sahi," informed Rajsekhar Swain, officer in-charge, district excise department.
