Paradip: The labour union of Essar steel Company at Paradip, which halted the construction work of the company following a group clash occurred on Friday, resumed the work at the plant site after getting assurance from the company authorities.

The decision came in the wake of a tripartite talk held among the police administration, labor union and Essar Authorities on Saturday. The company authorities agreed to address the demands of the labourers in phase manner following which the union declared to join work from Sunday. A discussion over the violence was held in the meeting in the presence of Paradip ADM and Essar top brass.

According to sources a clash took place on Friday between the company workers and security personnel over alleged torching of some makeshift houses of the workers. Over 12 people were injured in the violence.
Being irked over the incident, the labourers allegedly ransacked the office furniture attacking the company staff and security personnel. The security persons also retaliated them leading to a violent clash.
