Constable injured after being hit by coal-laden van in Bhadrak

Bhadrak: A constable of Sarabanga Police outpost today sustained critical injuries after being hit by pick-up van engaged in illegal transportation of coal.

According to sources, a police team of Sarabanga Police outpost intercepted the van near Erada in the wee hours today. However, speeding vehicle ran over constable Rajat Panigrahi who was trying to stop the vehicle.

Injured Panigrahi was initially admitted to Bhadrak DHH (District Headquarters Hospital) and was later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack after his condition deteriorated.

Meanwhile, Police have launched a manhunt to nab the driver who fled the spot immediately after the incident.
