Nayagarh: Students of Ladukeswar Jew College in Kumbharpada, Nayagarh have been issued fake receipts by college authorities against examination fees deposited by them.
According to sources, the fake receipts were issued after collecting Rs 1,000 from each student towards examination fees. While there are 180 students in the college, receipts were issued to each one of them, informed sources.
Parents and students have expressed dissatisfaction over the incident.
"My nephew is studying at Ladukeshwar College. When we informed the principal, he started blaming other persons. Since we are the guardians, we have decided to lodge a police complaint," said Arun Kumar Sahu, a guardian.
"Some college employees have collected Rs 1,000 from each one of us and issued fake receipts. When we complained they said that the college principal has taken the money,” said Sushant Pradhan, a student.
The college principal has informed that they have issued a show cause notice to the concerned college employees.
"After getting the complaints, I observed that the receipts issued to the students were fake and were bought from a shop. I have issued a show-cause notice to the concerned person who has not replied yet," said college principal, Rajkishore Satpathy.
