Chitgate: Retd IAS officer PK Hota, son grilled by CBI

Bhubaneswar: Retired IAS officer PK Hota and his son Debashis were interrogated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) sleuths on Saturday in connection with their alleged complicity in multi-crore Seashore chit fund scam.

Hota, a former managing director of state-run Agriculture Promotion and Investment Corporation of Odisha Ltd (APICOL), was grilled at the CBI office here for four hours.

Similarly, his son Debashis, who was the manager of Seashore Tours and Travels, was summoned by the agency for questioning.

Earlier, in November, the Central investigating agency carried out searches at residences of the former bureaucrat in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.

In 2010, APICOL had signed a partnership deal with Seashore to start a maize processing unit in Nabarangpur district and market chilly in Sambalpur district.
