Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police arrested chit-fund scam accused Subhankar Nayak on charges of misbehaving with a woman and attacking her son here on Sunday night.
The matter came to light after the woman and her son lodged an FIR at Kharavela Nagar police station.
Subhankar allegedly visited the complainant's house and abused the woman and manhandled her son.
“He abused me and my mother and also thrashed me,” alleged the son of the complainant.
Based on the complaint, police picked up Subhankar from his flat at Chandrama apartment near Bhubaneswar Railway Station yesterday evening for interrogation and later arrested him, reports said.
“I don’t know the complainant. How do I know against whom they have lodged the complaint?" said Subhankar on being asked about the incident.
On the other hand police commissioner Satyajit Mohanty said, "We are carrying out an investigation to find out whether the allegations levelled by the woman are true or false."
Subhankar was arrested by the CBI on November 18, 2014 for his alleged links in the Seashore chit fund scam. Later the Orissa High Court granted him conditional bail on August 1 last year.
