Chit fund scam: Actor Naseer Khan's bail plea rejected, sent to jail

Bhubaneswar: Bollywood filmmaker-cum-producer Naseer Khan was sent to jail today after his bail plea was rejected by the CBI court in Bhubaneswar. Khan was produced before the CBI court in connection with the Fine India chit fund scam.

According to sources, Fine India, a chit fund company which had several branches across the country, was allegedly involved in duping crores of rupees by accepting public deposits. The CBI had found evidence that the chit fund scam money was used to produce movie 'Shadow' by the visually challenged actor Naseer Khan, added sources. Naseer had acted in the movie.

Khan, was earlier arrested in October 2009 by Crime Branch Police from Cuttack and later released on bail.
