Baripada: In its bid to prevent attack on women at the district headquarters hospital premises, Mayurbhanj district administration has decided to install at least 21 CCTV cameras at different points of the health centre, official sources said.

The decision to install CCTV cameras at the district hospital premises, was taken barely five days after a woman was gang raped by six persons here. The woman who had come to the hospital to meet her brother, was allegedly gang raped by by miscreants in front of her husband.

"The decision was taken at a high level committee meeting presided over by district collector R P Patil," an official said.

The committee also resolved to beef up the security inside the indoor areas of the hospital premises. The staff and the doctors of the hospital will put up their ID Cards while on duty beside strict entry for outsiders and visitors with specified visiting hours to be laid down soon.

Besides the district collectors, many senior officials and police officers were present at the meeting.
