Bhubaneswar: With an aim to give students an opportunity to avoid the tag of being weak in Mathematics, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is planning to introduce two versions for the Mathematics papers for classes 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th.
Under the new system, CBSE will have two separate Mathematics question paper – one 'easy' and another 'tough' – so that the students who don’t want to study the subject further can appear for the easier one.
The subject expert committee is examining the proposal and once the it is approved by the board internally, it will be sent to the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) and the University Grants Commission (UGC) for approval.
This move of the CBSE has received mixed reaction from teachers.

This is not the right way to combat the fear factor among students on the subject. Judging whether a student at class 9th whether he/she should go for the difficult or the easy paper is not appropriate as students progress from one class to another.
