CBI special director reviews chit fund cases in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Speculations are now rife that the investigations into several chit fund scams will be intensified by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) after its Special Director Rakesh Asthana held a marathon meeting in Bhubaneswar today.

Sources said Asthana reviewed the status and progress of investigation into several chit fund cases in Odisha with senior officials.

Officials of CBI's Special Investigation Team (SIT), SPs and other senior authorities were present in the meeting.

According to reports, CBI is investigating chit fund cases involving 44 companies in Odisha and has already filed charge-sheets in over 30 cases.
